The Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) is a professional organization with more than 1,000 members who are dedicated to improving public education in Texas via quality communication services. TSPRA is celebrating 58 years in 2020, and Garland ISD's Communications and Public Relations (CPR) has long been involved with the organization. CPR has not only won numerous awards, but retired Communications Coordinator Judy Kriehn also designed TSPRA's original logo. GISD is now proud to announce its legacy will continue with newly appointed Executive Director of Communications & Public Relations, Sherese Lightfoot, serving a two-year term as TSPRA At-Large Vice President, Place 3.
Lightfoot’s contributions of time and service on the organization’s executive committee will prove an asset to TSPRA and its effectiveness. Specifically, she will represent the expertise of large communication office supervision, social media, diversity and experience as a new member of the organization. In addition, by virtue of the position, she will serve on the TSPRA strategic planning committee, budget committee and conference planning committee.
We look forward to seeing Lightfoot utilize her skills and knowledge to impact not only Garland ISD, but also Texas communicators and their public schools as well.
