Quarter 2 Instructional Model Selection Form
Garland ISD understands that families may want to change their instructional model selection of remote or face-to-face learning based on COVID-19 developments. If you would like to change your child’s instructional model for the second grading period, which begins Oct. 12, you can now make a new selection. Families received an email Sept. 8 with an updated link to our Quarter 2 Instructional Model Selection Form. If you do not have an email address on file with the district, you should have received a postcard in the mail over the weekend. The deadline to submit your new selection is Friday, Sept. 11. If you would like your student to remain in their current instructional model, you do not need to submit a form.

Garland ISD has a history of being financially responsible, stretching our budgets, doing more with less and being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. We also continue to increase student opportunities through initiatives like our Pre-K expansion, College for All and added dyslexia staff. In an effort to ensure the district can maintain its current programming and minimize the financial impact of these unprecedented times, GISD’s Board of Trustees called for a Tax Rate Election on the November ballot. If passed, it will not only generate the funds needed to maintain our current programming. It will also provide tax relief for all homeowners and businesses with a nearly 5 cent tax rate decrease.
